On Sunday, March 12, Princess Iman of Jordan married New York-based financier Jameel Thermiotis in a stunning ceremony at Beit Al Urdon Palace on the outskirts of Amman. The first royal wedding of this season saw the princess adorned in an elegant Dior gown, lace veil, and a Chaumet tiara that reportedly belonged to her grandmother.

The ceremony was broadcasted live and was an intimate and elegant affair brought to life by Jordanian event planners ADegrees. Guests at the ceremony included members of the royal family such as the bride’s parents, Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania. Dignitaries from across the region were also present including Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed Al-Nahyan, chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office, and the First Lady of Egypt, Entissar Amer, among others.

Crown Prince Hussein walked his sister down the aisle, smiles adorning both their faces. On Instagram, he shared an emotional post congratulating the newlyweds: “Grateful for all the precious memories we share and overjoyed to see you celebrate your wedding today… I wish you, dear Iman and Jameel, a lifetime of blessings and happiness together.”

After the imam laid out the terms of the marriage, both the bride and groom signed their marriage contract. King Abdullah, Prince Hussein, and Prince Hashem served as witnesses to the marriage. The religious ceremony was followed by the couple exchanging rings before being congratulated by friends and family. Particularly emotional moments included Princess Iman giving her father a kiss, and Queen Rania pulling her daughter in for an embrace.

The ceremony was also a sartorial spectacle unlike any other. Queen Rania painted a tasteful vision in a taupe dress from Dior’s FW22 collection featuring a victorian inspired high collar, while Rajwa Al Saif, Prince Hussein’s fiancée, went for a yellow creation from Roksanda. Princess Iman’s younger sister, Princess Salma, also stayed true to her family’s reputation for impeccable style in Andrew Gn.

After the ceremony, the newly married couple moved to another chamber where they were welcomed by a flag salute and traditional zaffe troupe. The first order of business after this was to tackle the towering wedding cake using a sword.

The couple also posed for portraits with Queen Rania and King Abdullah, among other members of the family. Following the wedding, Queen Rania was quick to congratulate her daughter on social media. “Iman, I pray this next chapter in your life brings you as much joy, love, and laughter as you have brought us over the years. Congratulations to the bride and groom!” she said on Instagram.

The royal’s Facebook page saw a more emotional post. It read: “It was only yesterday that our little princess Iman first lit up our world. Your father held you in his heart before holding you in his arms. You have his smile, the laughter in his eyes, and his compassionate heart. You will always be his little girl. And what a loving sister: Al Hussein’s best friend, Hashem’s confidante, and Salma’s soul mate.”
