Andre Agassi on Mad About You

The Scene: A taping of NBC’s Mad About You, which is neck-and-neck with Fox’s top-rated Simpsons, for a show scheduled to air Feb. 3.

The Plot: When Paul and Jamie (Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt) try out a virtual reality machine, Andre Agassi and model Christie Brinkley arrive to make their dreams come true.

Why Billy Joel Married This Woman: ”We were worried that Christie might not want to do the full, sexy (scene),” explains Reiser, ”but she kept raising the stakes on us. She’d say, ‘What if I was just wearing a garter belt in this scene?’ And I’m like, ‘Okay, alrighty.’ Then she says, ‘What if he puts his hand on the inside of my thigh?’ and I’m like, ‘Okay. We can go with it.”’

How She Stays Married: Christie taped her scene the day before, with no audience in attendance.

Is That a Technical Term? EW: How about working with the pr Agassi: ”What are those?” EW: Paul and Helen. Agassi: ”Oh, I see. I’m a virgin when it comes to those things.”

Does Barbra Know About This? Agassi arrived with Brooke Shields, and the two were spied kissing backstage.

Donned Knot: Hunt to executive producer Jeffrey Lane: ”Am I stoned or are you wearing a Simpsons tie?”
