You’d think Louise Sorel would worry about her safety at the hands of outraged fans. As Vivian on Days of Our Lives, the actress has buried one woman alive and stolen a fertilized egg from another to implant it in herself. ”Actually, I did ask the producers for a bulletproof vest,” jokes Sorel. But not only do fans still like her; she’ll be cohosting the Soap Opera Digest Awards. ”I think Vivian’s innate humor gives her license,” she quips. The same might be said of the outspoken Sorel, known, in her own words, for being ”a handful.” Last year — after winning a Soap Digest award for outstanding villain — she thanked the Days writers ”for whatever it is they’re smoking.” Claims Sorel, ”They didn’t get mad because I acknowledged them… with humor.”
