The Emmy Nominations are in

''The Sopranos'' earns a whopping 16 nominations, while the ''Friends'' cast nearly gets shut out

The nominations for the 51st annual Emmy Awards were announced this morning, and ”The Sopranos” got its due, topping the list with 16 nominations — including nabbing four out of the five writing slots for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series. David E. Kelley also was well represented, with his ”Ally McBeal” and ”The Practice” scooping up 13 nods each, but the ”Friends” cast once again proved that being in the top-rated sitcom seems to only make Emmy voters angry, with everyone but Lisa Kudrow getting snubbed. Here are the rest of the major nominations, so start marking your own ballots before the winners are announced on Sunday, Sep. 12. (The rest of the technical awards are listed on the Emmys website.)
