Despite recent reports that he is gravely ill, actor Ryan O’Neal is still set to be a presenter at the Academy Awards Sunday night (March 24), accompanied by his ”Love Story” costar Ali MacGraw, Reuters reported. O’Neal, who is suffering from chronic leukemia, is weighing whether to undergo a bone marrow transplant, according to People magazine. The magazine reported that O’Neal has responded well to treatment thus far, but the actor’s publicist declined to comment on his health to Reuters.
O’Neal’s performance in 1970’s ”Love Story” won him a Best Actor nomination; he went on to appear in such films as ‘”What’s Up, Doc?” (1972) ”Paper Moon” (1973), and ”A Bridge Too Far” (1977). Most recently, O’Neal played a movie star in the upcoming ”People I Know,” with Kim Basinger and Al Pacino.
