SOUND BITES ”” is becoming the Early Show. announced Friday that he’s releasing his long-awaited follow-up to ”The Marshall Mathers LP” on May 28, a week ahead of schedule. The reason, says Slim, is shady Internet pirates who’ve already made the album available for download. ”We had no choice,” he said in a statement. The retail version offers one inducement to get fans to buy it in stores: a DVD with video clips and the trailer to Em’s upcoming semiautobiographical movie ”8 Mile” is included in the first 2 million copies….

TROPHY TIME Friday’s turned into a going-away party for Rosie O’Donnell. O’Donnell, who says goodbye to her talk show on Wednesday, earned her sixth straight Best Talk Show Host trophy and her fifth straight Best Talk Show award. The 29th annual ceremony, held at New York’s Madison Square Garden, held little daytime drama except for the surprise win for ”One Life to Live” as Best Drama (the show’s first-ever win in that category) and the gaffe by CBS, which nearly awarded Best Actress to the wrong Susan. The honor went to Susan Flannery of ”The Bold and the Beautiful,” but when her name was read, cameras cut instead to perennial nominee Susan Lucci of ”All My Children,” who was backstage as a presenter. She mouthed ”Me?” and headed for the stage, but Flannery beat her to the podium.

Other major Emmys went to Peter Bergman (Best Lead Actor, ”The Young and the Restless”), Josh Duhamel (Best Supporting Actor, ”All My Children”), Crystal Chappell (Best Supporting Actress, ”Guiding Light”), Jacob Young (Best Young Actor, ”General Hospital”), and Jennifer Finnigan (Best Young Actress, ”The Bold and the Beautiful”). Best Game Show honors went to ”Jeopardy!”, but best Game Show Host was Emmy emcee Bob Barker of ”The Price Is Right.”…

In what may be a preview of the Tony Awards in two weeks, the Drama Desk Awards named ”Thoroughly Modern Millie” the Best Musical on Sunday. The show took home five awards in all, including Best Actress (Sutton Foster) and Best Director (Michael Mayer). The Drama Desks, given out by theater critics, are the only awards that recognize Broadway, Off-Broadway, and Off-Off-Broadway plays, but all the major honorees this year came from the Tony pool of Broadway shows. John Lithgow took home the Best Actor (Musical) award for ”The Sweet Smell of Success.” ”Fortune’s Fool” won awards for Best Play (tying with ”Metamorphoses”) and actors Alan Bates and Frank Langella….

Big winners at the (American Latino Media Arts) Awards were Marc Anthony and the movie ”Pinero,” which took home three trophies each. At Saturday’s ceremony at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, which honored achievements by Latino performers in movies, TV, and music, Anthony won for Best Spanish Album, Best Variety Special, and Best Male Performer. ”Pinero” won Best Picture, Best Screenplay (Leon Ichaso), and Best Actor (Benjamin Bratt). Best Actress went to Laura Elena Harring in ”Mulholland Drive.” ”Spy Kids”’ Robert Rodriguez won Best Director. On TV, NYPD Blue’s Esai Morales won Best Actor, ”Oz”’ Rita Moreno won Best Actress, and Showtime’s ”Resurrection Blvd.” won Best Series. Among musicians, Ricky Martin won the first-ever Vanguard award for providing a platform for other Latino musicians, and Jennifer Lopez won the People’s Choice award for the video for ”Love Don’t Cost a Thing.” The awards show, hosted by comic Paul Rodriguez, will air June 1 on ABC….
