Guess they didn’t want to rush into anything. After nearly seven years together, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale finally made it legal. The rockers tied the knot in London on Saturday at St. Paul’s Church in Covent Garden, according to a statement released by Interscope Records, No Doubt’s label. It’s the first wedding for the No Doubt frontwoman, 32, and the Bush singer, 34, but not the last; there’ll be a second ceremony stateside, in Los Angeles, on Sept. 28.

Stefani eschewed her usual belly-baring attire for a traditional, cream-colored, sleeveless John Galliano gown. The British bridegroom wore the customary morning coat, plus sunglasses. The ”guest of honor,” the couple’s Hungarian Puli sheepdog, Winston, wore purple and pink flowers. In attendance were the members of No Doubt and Bush, as well as other friends and relatives.

The transatlantic couple met in December 1995 when their bands were performing at a concert for Los Angeles radio station KROQ. They managed to keep a long-distance relationship going for years, but by 2001, Stefani was dropping hints in songs like ”Marry Me” and ”Don’t Let Me Down.” Rossdale proposed on New Year’s Day 2002.

The newlyweds are expected to honeymoon in France, though their trip will have to be a short one. No Doubt is due back in the States to open for the Rolling Stones for three dates, starting Oct. 12.
