''Old School'' gang plots secret sequel

''Old School'' gang plots secret sequel. Director hangs veil of ''Matrix''-like secrecy over ''Project X,'' but Luke Wilson spills the beans

Even while still shooting this spring’s hit ”Old School,” Luke Wilson said he and co-stars Will Ferrell and Vince Vaughn were already talking sequel, but only now is Wilson taking the talk seriously. ”I just figured those guys wouldn’t be up for it because it was something we just kidded around [about], like, ‘Yeah, when we make ”Old School 2” and then when we make ”Old School 3” when we’re like 55,”’ Wilson told MTV News. ”But I heard those guys were up for it and I was like, ‘Heck yeah, I’d love to do it.”’

Turns out that ”Old School” director Todd Philips already has a script idea. ”Todd has a very original concept for it,” Vaughn told MTV News recently on the set of ”Starsky and Hutch” (Phillips is directing the cop comedy, which features Vaughn as a bad guy, a cameo from Ferrell, and Wilson’s brother Owen as Hutch, opposite Ben Stiller’s Starsky.) ”Nothing like what you would expect. It’s pretty funny. I’m excited to see what he draws up,” Vaughn said.

”We are currently working on something called ‘Project X,’ which may or may not be ‘Old School 2,”’ a secretive Phillips told MTV News. ”The plot of ‘Project X’ is as guarded as the plot of the next ‘Matrix.”’ But Luke Wilson offered a hint about what the aging fratboys would do in the sequel. ”They’re trying to make it seem like a secret government thing, but what I heard was they go to Daytona Beach [during spring break] or something,” he said. ”I don’t know anything about it besides that, but hopefully it will all come together.”
