Brad Garrett returns to ''Raymond''

At last, everybody’s feeling loved on ”Everybody Loves Raymond.” According to the Hollywood Reporter, Brad Garrett and the show’s producers have reached a settlement that will end his two-and-a-half-week walkout and return him to the set on Wednesday, in time to keep from being written out of the season’s second episode.

Garrett, who plays Ray Romano’s policeman brother on the top-rated sitcom, had reportedly been miffed that, at a salary of about $160,000 per episode, he was making one-tenth of what Romano (TV’s highest paid actor) earns. Earlier this week, Romano and his coproducers agreed to give away some of their own syndication percentages to supporting actors Garrett, Patricia Heaton, Doris Roberts, and Peter Boyle, who’ll get half a point each. Now, the Reporter says, Garrett will also receive a per-episode raise. CBS and Garrett did not disclose the details, but reports say that he’ll earn anywhere from $250,000 to $450,000 (a figure in line with Heaton’s current salary) per show. He also agreed to commit to a ninth season of ”Raymond,” should Romano and creator Phil Rosenthal reverse themselves and decide to continue the show beyond 2004. ”They want to see how it goes this year and how [the writers] are feeling about it in January,” CBS entertainment chief Leslie Moonves told the Reporter. ”I don’t think that [settling with Garrett] has changed that position significantly.”
