2 Fast 2 Furious

How does director John Singleton compensate for the Vin Diesel-lessness of his sequel 2 Fast 2 Furious? With even more gratuitous shots of scantily clad women and souped-up imports, of course! Sadly, he doesn’t add any more plot — ”2F2F” is just a warmed-over version of its 2001 predecessor: L.A. cop-turned-Miami street racer Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) once again rides alongside a bald, tattooed criminal (the fab-ab’d Tyrese Gibson) while wooing a feisty, well-tanned beauty (Eva Mendes).

Granted, Singleton gets the ol’ adrenaline pumping with some blazing car chases and close-ups on Tyrese’s chiseled bod, but his cinematographic eye candy just isn’t fast or furious enough to beat out the original testosterone-fueled flick. EXTRAS The deleted scenes, outtakes, and Singleton’s commentary pale in comparison with a Playboy Bunny feigning interest in learning how to ”trick out” a car.
