''Real World'' to stay in Philadelphia

Philadelphia will be keeping it real after all. After a dispute with local unions scuttled plans for a season of MTV��s ”The Real World” set in Philly, the show’s producers reached a deal Tuesday with the city’s government that will provide for the show’s return, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. Union members — angry at the show’s employment of non-union workers — had picketed the ”Real World” house, leading the show’s producers to fear they’d have difficulty shooting the season.

But in a compromise reached with the city, union workers will help finish setting up the house, according to the Inquirer. Two local groups had launched an e-mail campaign urging the city to try to keep the ”Real World” around, leading the city government to engage in intense negotiations with Bunim/Murray Productions, the Inquirer reported. And now, seven new strangers can stop being polite and start being real.
