Burt Reynolds slaps TV producer

Burt Reynolds slaps TV producer -- At the ''Longest Yard'' premiere, the actor seemingly became annoyed when the producer said he hadn't seen the star's films

Burt Reynolds slapped a TV producer at Tuesday night’s premiere of The Longest Yard, according to the AP.

Reynolds, 69, apparently became annoyed when the unidentified CBS News PATH producer said he wasn’t familiar with the film — either the 1974 original version starring Reynolds or the new remake, which stars Adam Sandler and Chris Rock. ”What… kind of guy are you?” Reynolds asked. Just then, outside of camera range, an audible slap is heard. (Watch the clip on WCBS-TV’s website.)

Jeff Lane, Reynolds’ spokesman, said in a statement that Reynolds ”playfully tapped [the producer] on the cheek, as if to say, ‘Well, that’s not very nice.’ He was kidding.”
