Trippy yet maddening to sit through. Richard Linklater’s adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s 1977 novel stays true to its paranoid conundrums, with rotoscoped images that melt like liquid shadow. Yet as the actors (Keanu Reeves, Robert Downey Jr.) yap away in a stoned torpor, their freak-outs never become ours.
