George Strait live was worth the wait. Who's on your concert wish list?

I was so excited I wanted to starch all my jeans. This past Saturday night I finally got to see one of my favorite artists, George Strait, live in concert outside Boston. I’ve been a huge fan for years and had waited patiently for the bona fide country legend to make an appearance anywhere near New York City. And the show did not disappoint. Strait was the consummate professional, barreling through his parade of hits with ease. The New York Times’ astute critic Jon Caramanica took Strait to task in a recent review for being a bit too restrained. And it’s true in that in his 27-song set, the cowboy hat never came off, the voice never cracked, and Strait never broke a sweat. But you certainly shouldn’t go to a George Strait show and expect Bruce Springsteen. Would it have been nice if he had played a little longer than an hour and 45 minutes, or if he had chatted with the crowd a bit more? Sure, but that wouldn’t be George.I’ve been lucky enough to see most of my musical obsessions live (Dixie Chicks, Yaz, Chris Isaak, Ben Folds), and now I get to cross one more act off my wish list. Now at the top is one performer I fear I may never get to see, judging from the turmoil in his life: Robbie Williams. Where are you, Robbie?
