Question: I’m literally dying for some 24 scoop. Please, give me some! – Daniel

Ausiello: The May 24 series finale will find Jack squaring off against his most formidable adversary yet: Chloe! “Chloe and Jack are in a real face-off,” reveals executive producer Howard Gordon. “And Chloe has to decide between her duty [as head of CTU] and her friendship and allegiance to Jack. Their relationship gets put to the test in a way it’s never been tested before. It’s a collision course that culminates in the finale. It’s about as hairy a confrontation as you can possibly imagine, and it’s a nearly lethal one.” Playing those scenes was “really fun” and “very emotional,” says Mary Lynn Rajskub. “[It’s] kind of crazy…what happens between Jack and Chloe. I’ve never done anything like that.”

Question: I realize Katherine Heigl isn’t returning, but will Grey’s Anatomy find a way to give Alex closure about Izzie? —Sharon

Ausiello: Not on Shonda Rhimes’ watch. The boss lady tells me she has no plans to tie up the loose ends of the Alex-Izzie love story. “It’s going to linger,” she says. “And I actually feel good about it lingering because [it means] Alex is left with unfinished business. And that’s going to be very interesting for his character.”

Question: That Grey’s Anatomy teaser you posted has me worried that there will be multiple deaths in the supposedly game-changing season finale. Can you please put my mind at ease? —Jacob

Ausiello: I can’t. But I think Shonda Rhimes can. “The events of the finale itself change the game,” she says. “Whether anyone lives or anyone dies is not really necessarily the point of it.” Feel better? No? I gots nothin’ else.

Question: Are Callie and Arizona going to get through their baby issue on Grey’s Anatomy? —Nicole

Ausiello: It sounds like Shonda Rhimes wants them to, which probably bodes well. “They’re breaking my heart right now with their I want to have a baby, I don’t want to have a baby war, because I’ve actually known people who go through this and it’s never pretty,” she says. “But I like them together and I want to see them together.”

Question: Any news on Melrose Place being picked up for another season? —Amy

Ausiello: How to put this delicately… Charmed stands a better chance of coming back next fall.

Question: I am totally freaking out about Ellie and Awesome on Chuck. Are they leaving the show for good?! —Lucas

Ausiello: I’ll say this: They’re both in the finale.

Question: Looks like we failed your Twitter challenge. Sorry about that. But can you please still give us the answer to one of your recent blind items? —Cathy

Ausiello: Are you seriously asking me to reward you for failing? [Beat] Works for me. The answer to this blind item is Brothers & Sisters.

Question: Why is your Twitter page saying it doesn’t exist? What happened? —Ellie

Ausiello: It’s suffering from an identity crisis. It now insists on answering only to @michaelausiello.

Question: Smallville fans are absolutely dying to know the identity of the mysterious red queen. What can you tell us? —Alex

Ausiello: Two things: 1) She’s someone we know, and 2) Make sure you watch the May 7 episode. In other Smallville news, major season finale spoiler alert!

Question: My guess for the Big Bang Theory show Leonard and Sheldon have to watch every Friday night is the original Star Trek! —Mel

Ausiello: Wrong! It’s ***e***!

Question: What’s up with the lack of Tina C. time on Glee? Seriously, in the Madonna episode, she got like 30 seconds of screen time. Even Santana got to sing. —Ben A.

Ausiello: Series creator Ryan Murphy intended to give Tina more to do. “I actually had written a scene [in which] Tina was having a dark fantasy…that was sort of an ‘Erotica’/’Justify My Love’ mash-up,” he says. “But it was too long. I’m dying to do [it, though].” And I suspect he will. He adds: “It’s perfect for a sequel.”

Question: You mentioned something about a new vixen causing trouble on Desperate Housewives either this season or next. Any more scoop on that front? —Quincy

Ausiello: I think we may catch a glimpse of said troublemaker in the season finale. And to echo something series creator Marc Cherry recently hinted at, I wouldn’t use the word “vixen” to describe the character; I hear the troublemaker is a he. (I also wouldn’t use the word “new.”)

Question: Got any more scoop about the season finale of Desperate Housewives? —Julien

Ausiello: Real estate insiders are anticipating a significant spike in inventory on Wisteria Lane in the coming weeks. It’s my understanding that at least two homes will be going on the market in the finale.

Question: What’s the latest on Heroes returning? I have not heard a peep since it went off our screens. —Joanne

Ausiello: The latest is that there’s a 60 percent chance the show will be back for a series-ending 13-episode run.

Question: Longtime reader. First-time writer-inner. I am loving Parks and Recreation this year! Will there be any big developments regarding my favorite bizarro Sam-and-Diane-ish couple, Andy and April (whom I lovingly call A-squared)? Or will their age gap get in the way? —Phil

Ausiello: April will poke a pretty huge hole in Andy’s cradle-robbing argument when she turns 21 in this season’s second-to-last episode. “April feels that 21 is the legal definition of an adult,” explains executive producer Michael Schur. “So her attitude is ‘He can’t feel that way anymore,’ and she makes a move.” Hmm…I wonder if I reserved a spot on my May Sweeps Scorecard for said move.

Question: Any hints on the surprising conclusion to Annie’s hit-and-run story line on 90210? —Craig

Ausiello: I think the surprise is that the real truth won’t actually be revealed until next season.

Question: When are we going to see Robin Sparkles again on How I Met Your Mother? It’s been far too long. —Jaime

Ausiello: Good news: Robin’s ’80s alter ego will reappear next season when Mother shows us footage of the Canadian variety show she headlined with frequent sidekick Alan Thicke. (As you know, the failed program got a shout-out earlier this season in the episode “The Rough Patch.) “It’s inevitable that we’re going to see what that show was all about,” confirms exec producer Carter Bays. “That’s something to look forward to next season.”

Question: How I Met Your Mother‘s season finale is just around the corner. Got any awesome scoop on it? —Rebecca

Ausiello: Marshall and Lily may or may not get their baby-making groove on in the episode. Either way, executive producer Carter Bays says “a stork isn’t going to drop a baby in their laps in the season premiere…. [Parenthood] is going to be a big chapter in their lives. There are a lot of steps ahead.” Bays confirms that the reveal earlier this season (via narration) that their first child is a boy was an intentional piece of foreshadowing. “Every now and then we like to, in a roundabout way, paint a clear picture of who they are at the time that the show’s being narrated from,” he explains. “And yes, we felt like it was time to tell the audience that Marshall and Lily also go on to have kids.”

Question: OMG! Is it true Katie Cassidy is joining The Vampire Diaries as Meredith? Please tell me IMDb isn’t lying this once. —Juliet

Ausiello: As bloody fangtastic as that would be, it’s unfortunately not true.

Question: Do you have any CSI scoop? —Bootsie

Ausiello: The May 6 episode is titled “Lost and Found” and “it’s a really beautiful Nick and Brass story,” says executive producer Carol Mendelsohn. “It’s about a cold case, and we meet a woman who three years ago came home from her job and her husband and children were not in the house. They found her husband’s bloody truck on the highway, but they never found her family. Brass has been investigating this case for three years. It’s a terrific episode and it has a surprise ending. I don’t think anyone will ever see the end coming.”

Question: Can you give us some clue about the season finale of Lost? —Juliana

Ausiello: The gorgeous and hilarious Rebecca Mader stopped by the EW offices yesterday and told us two important things: She knows how it all ends and she loves to consume large amounts of alcohol. Bottom line: We need to get that flame-haired Brit sloshed!

Question: I know you can’t identify the corpses in your May Sweeps Scorecard ahead of time, but can you tell us when the first death occurs? —Sam

Ausiello: Next week.

Question: Any Friday Night Lights scoop? —Jason

Ausiello: Just a heads-up to Emmy voters: After several years in the supporting race, Connie Britton has opted to enter herself in the lead actress category at this year’s Emmys. Smart move, IMHO.

Question: This is my first time asking a question. I feel a little giddy! Do you have any more scoop on the upcoming season of True Blood? June 13 still seems so far away! —Carrie

Ausiello: The Bon Temps rumor mill is rife with speculation that Lafayette’s love story will have a supernatural tinge to it. Translation: Boyfriend’s not just a nurse.

Question: Any Big Brother scoop? HA! Made you look. —Stephen
