FX renews Louis C.K.'s 'Louie' for a second season

Image Credit: Eric Leibowitz/FX“Your father’s dead,” but the good news is that FX has renewed Louis C.K.’s half-hour comedy/cringe-fest Louie for 13 more episodes. Oh, joy! Rapture! Television has a brain! Way to go, FX (F—ing Xcellent). At the risk of sounding insensitive, this news makes me want to party down. (Too soon? Yes.)

My favorite scene so far was Louie’s reluctant attempt at serious acting in the presence of Matthew Broderick in last week’s “Heckler/Cop Movie.” However, as I’ve taken to closing my eyes, snapping, and swaying (while remaining seated of course) in what could tentatively be called a “groove” whenever the opening titles come on, maybe technically my favorite thing about the show is the theme song. “Louie, Louie, Louie, Lou-eee…”

New show tonight: 11 p.m. ET. Watch it! There have only been six episodes, which means that in less than three hours on Hulu, you can become a proprietary, possibly smug overlord of a cool show that is definitely not about to get canceled. That’s almost never the case! Get in there.

What’s been your favorite Louie moment so far?
