Fall TV preview: NCIS: Los Angeles

Returning Drama, 9-10 PM, CBS

This procedural’s debut season ended with a cliff-hanger that implied that someone’s been spying on G. Callen (Chris O’Donnell). Well? ”There is clearly someone watching [him], and perhaps more than one,” hints creator Shane Brennan, adding that season 2 will pick up exactly where the finale left off, with a ”breathtaking” action sequence in the heart of Hollywood. And while fans shouldn’t expect to learn what Callen’s ”G.” stands for anytime soon, the two-hour premiere will shed some light on his mysterious past. As for the rest of the OSP team, Sam (LL Cool J) will be taken back to his days as a Navy SEAL in Somalia, and Kensi (Daniela Ruah) will gain a new partner in LAPD liaison Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen, now a series regular). Brennan wouldn’t comment on the prospect of a Kensi-Deeks romance, but suggested that ”a little bit of nudging from the audience wouldn’t hurt.” Nudge, nudge. SEPT. 21
