'Community' set visit: Ken Jeong takes you behind the scenes

If there’s anything we’ve learned about the NBC sitcom Community, it’s that the show often thinks outside of the box. (What other program would devote an entire episode to an apocalyptic paintball battle, shoot an upcoming Christmas special with old-school stop-motion animation, or announce a “Twittersode” for Thursday’s season premiere?). So when I learned that Community would be hosting a “virtual” set visit, the idea seemed odd but entirely appropriate. During the visit, which was streamed live to members of the press, Ken Jeong (Señor Chang) led a cameraman around the Paramount Pictures lot while introducing us to various members of the cast and crew. Yes, the whole shebang essentially became an elaborate plug for the show’s Season One DVD set (out now), but it was amusing to see everyone in their natural habitat. And NBC should hire Jeong to host a semi-invasive set visit for all of the network’s shows. “Hello, this is Ken Jeong, here on the set of Law & Order: SVU — let’s investigate!”

After the jump, watch an extended clip from the set visit, plus an exclusive “interview” between Community creator Dan Harmon and cast members Ken Jeong and Yvette Nicole Brown.

PopWatchers, are you guys pumped for your second year at Greendale Community College? And which other TV shows would you like to see host a “virtual” set visit?
