Michael Gough — the British actor who played Bruce Wayne’s dedicated butler Alfred in 1989’s Batman, 1992’s Batman Returns, 1995’s Batman Forever, and 1997’s Batman & Robin — has died, according to the BBC. He was 94. Gough had a career that stretched across eight decades, including roles on British television and in several Hammer horror films. After Tim Burton sought him out for Batman, Gough became something of a Burton regular, appearing in Sleepy Hollow and lending his voice to Corpse Bride and last year’s Alice in Wonderland.
