Coldplay's 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall' video: Watch it here!

This fall, Coldplay will be releasing one of the most high-profile and hotly-anticipated albums of the year. But they’ve already got a head start making noise.

The band just released the EP Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall, a three-song collection that features the title track (which also serves as the first single from the forthcoming album) as well as two other new songs, “Major Minus” and “Moving to Mars.”

Now comes their latest video, for “Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall,” and like most of the group’s clips, it’s colorful, jubilant and more than a little trippy. Check it out after the jump.

Coldplay have now been around for 11 years (yes, “Yellow” is over a decade old), and over the course of four albums (this fall’s will be their fifth), they have managed to not only carve out a pretty impressive body of musical work but also a fairly staggering videography.

There’s the great cut-out animation of “Don’t Panic,” the impressive backwards headtrip that is “The Scientist,” the warm nostalgia of “Christmas Lights” and the subtle intensity of “Talk.” And they’ve worked with some of the most elite directors in the business, including Anton Corbijn, Sophie Muller, Grant Gee, and even Hype Williams (frontman Chris Martin and wife Gwyneth Paltrow are close with the Carters, after all).

The band is keeping busy in the lead-up to the release of their still-untitled fifth album—they just played a well-received set at the Glastonbury Festival and will be one of the headliners at Lollapalooza in August.

What do you think of the video, and where does it rank among the long list of great Coldplay clips? Sound off in the comments below.
