'Cabin in the Woods': the trailer!

Cabin In Woods Poster

Will attractive, college-age movie characters ever tire of vacationing in ominous-looking woodland cabins? Let’s hope not! The latest film to make use of that tried-and-tested trope is the appropriately titled Cabin in the Woods, which is co-written by Joss Whedon, directed by Cloverfield scripter Drew Goddard, and stars Chris “Thor” Hemsworth.

The film has been gathering dust on the shelf for a while, thanks to the financial problems of MGM, but is now set to hit cinemas on April 13. My own appetite for the project was whetted earlier this year when, in the course of interviewing Nightmare on Elm Street star Heather Langenkamp, the actress mentioned that her husband, special-effects expert David LeRoy Anderson, had worked extensively on the film and that people were going to be “astounded” by the result.

Anyway, the first trailer for the up-until-now hush-hush project has just been released. It does seem to feature spoilers up the wazoo but, if you’re not worried about that sort of thing, please do check it out and tell us what you think.
