'White Collar': Neal and Peter on the mend?

The White Collar question I probably get asked the most for EW’s Spoiler Room is about whether Peter (Tim DeKay) and Neal (Matt Bomer) will ever start to heal their fractured relationship — which has been under strain ever since Peter started suspecting that Neal had stolen the U-boat treasure. And inquiries increased by tenfold after the summer finale, in which Elizabeth (Tiffani Thiessen) was kidnapped by Keller, who was using her as a hostage until he got the treasure he knew Neal had.

Yeah, this wasn’t going to help mend anything.

But in the clip below, we find the two on much better terms, and, dare I say, genuinely friendly again. Whew.

How they get to this point, however, is another story. As you’ve seen in the preview, there are rocky times ahead — not to mention a wifey in the balance. It all unfolds a mere week from now on Jan. 17.
