She may not have the flirting skills of Parvati, the humor of Cirie, or the athletic toughness of Stephenie, but Kim Spradlin is certainly making a case to be considered one of the best female contestants to ever play Survivor. There’s a lot of game left, but her mastery and manipulation has been pretty darn impressive so far. On this week’s edition of the InsideTV Podcast, Jessica Shaw and I dissect Kim’s game and whether she should be considered a future all-star. Then, ousted Jay Byars calls in to offer his take, as well as explaining whether those million dollar chicken wings were really worth it. Why’d he vote off Mike? Why’d he tattle on Troyzan’s plan to oust Kim? And why didn’t he bring his bag to Tribal Council? The male model explains all of that and more!

Jessica and I then turn our attention to some new scripted fare, beginning with Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt. 23. Is this Krysten Ritter comedy a keeper? Are we pro or con when it comes to Van Der Beek playing Van Der Beek? And did the show rush through to a resolution between the two roomies too soon? (The Apt. 23 discussion begins at 18:05) We also preview HBO’s newest comedy, Girls, and why it is a show best watched alone. Could this become the channel’s latest hit, or is it too quirky and raw for mainstream audiences? And what’s the program’s true secret weapon? Listen in and find out! (We start talking Girls at 23:00.)
