When the chiseled stars of the upcoming stripper movie Magic Mike assembled in New York City for our April 24 cover shoot, they proved that a hard body takes hard work. ”Joe Manganiello [left] didn’t make any dietary requests,” says senior associate photo editor Rachael Lieberman. ”All he wanted were free weights.” As Manganiello pumped up, Matt Bomer and Matthew McConaughey kept busy with jump ropes and push-ups. ”All the guys were exercising on set. I kept having to pinch myself,” she says.
