'MasterChef' renewed for fourth season

You had to know this was coming: Fox is ordering a fourth season of MasterChef.

The cooking competition has performed very solidly this summer, often outdrawing its veteran lead-in Hell’s Kitchen and posting a 8 percent increase from last year’s numbers. Fans of the show may have noticed that the production was a step up this year; with a more elaborate set and showing more “behind-the-scenes” style interactions among the contestants.

“Gordon and the producers really took MasterChef to a whole new level this year,” said Fox’s president of alternative Mike Darnell.
