'Machete Kills': Lady Gaga's acting debut

MACHETE KILLS GAGA

Lady Gaga will make her acting debut in Machete Kills, the 2013 sequel Robert Rodriguez’ bulletsoaked ode to exploitation cinema. Earlier today, Rodriguez tweeted: “I just finished working with @LadyGaga on @MacheteKills, she kicked SO MUCH ASS! Holy Smokes. Blown away!” Rodriguez included a poster proclaiming that Gaga is playing “La Chameléon,” a character who apparently enjoys wearing wolf fur and shooting silenced pistols, which in context makes her seem rather demure. Gaga confirmed on her own Twitter account: “Yes its true, I will be making my debut as an actress ln the amazing MACHETE KILLS BY @RODRIGUEZ IM SO EXCITED!!! AH! Filming was insane.”

Gaga joins a cast which already includes renegade child star Vanessa Hudgens, sitcom queen Sofia Vergara, Die Hard 2 villain William Sadler, Oscar nominee Demián Bichir, national treasure Michelle Rodriguez, tabloid casualty Mel Gibson, tabloid refugee Charlie Sheen, and even Edward James Olmos, the unofficial fifth face of Mount Rushmore. Curiously, IMDB claims that Cuba Gooding Jr. is playing a character named “El Camaleon,” a male correlative to “La Chamaléon,” which could indicate that Gooding’s part was recast with Gaga. Or maybe they’re playing siblings. Anyhow, check out the poster image below:
