Lindsay Lohan: Why isn't Amanda Bynes in jail?

According to her Twitter bio, beleaguered actress Lindsay Lohan is an "artist of many things." She's also a crusader against injustice, particularly as perpetrated by California's legal system — understandable, considering her vast experience with the state's police and courts.

Last night, the star of Lifetime's Liz & Dick took to her favorite bully pulpit to complain about what she perceives as unfair treatment. But Lindsay wasn't talking about innocent people getting convicted for crimes they didn't commit, or lopsided custody battles — she was focused on how Cali treats former child stars, its most endangered species. "Why did I get put in jail and a Nickelodeon star has had NO punishment(s) so far?" she tweeted bitterly, continuing a few minutes later with this message: "These are the moments that I appreciate my life experiences, living without regrets and Disney for supporting me as an actress."

The Nickelodeon star in question, of course, is Amanda Bynes, who has even more driving infractions than this guy. (She seems to be staying off Twitter for a change.) Lohan's complaints are actually premature, since Bynes is due in court on Sept. 21. If convicted for a DUI (she's pleading not guilty) and two counts of misdemeanor hit-and-run (which allegedly occurred April 10 and August 4), the star of What I Like About You could face a large fine and, yes, up to one year in jail.

So… cheer up, Lindsay?
