Miley Cyrus may have boosted 'Men' ratings

Two and a Half Men's ratings jumped to a season-high Thursday night as guest star Miley Cyrus joined the boys' club.

Men delivered 13.6 million viewers and a 4.0 rating in the adult demo, up 14 percent from last week (and, yes, you're welcome for that photo). Guest stars normally don't have much of an impact on a show's viewership and there's another factor at play here — or should I say, Factor, since Fox's 8 p.m. singing competition was replaced by lower-rated baseball last night. Still, Men's lead-in Big Bang Theory (15.4 million, 4.7) was only up 4 percent compared to Men rising 14 percent, so Cyrus may very well have added to Men's bottom line.

Also of interest last night: The CW's Beauty and the Beast (2 million, 0.7) dropped 42 percent in the adult demo for Week 2. Not really surprising considering the poor reviews the pilot received (averaging 34 out of 100 on Metacritic). Lead-in Vampire Diaries (2.7 million, 1.2) dipping 25 percent didn't help. Both shows faced original series competition this week instead of the debates.

CBS won the night overall, with Person of Interest (13.8 million, 2.8) down 7 percent (have you seen the new POI opening credits?) and Elementary (10.8 million, 2.3) down 8 percent from two weeks ago.

ABC's Last Resort (7.3 million, 1.7) was up 6 percent, but there might be some local sports inflating this number. Grey's Anatomy (9.5 million, 3.3) was down 13 percent and Scandal (6.4 million, 2.0) was unchanged.

NBC had flat 30 Rock (3.3 million, 1.3), Up All Night (3.2 million, 1.4) up 27 percent The Office (4.3 million, 2.0) down 9 percent to a series low, Parks and Rec (3.4 million, 1.6) down 16 percent and Rock Center (3.4 million, 0.9) down 10 percent.
