Will Arnett talks 'Arrested Development' on 'Conan'

Chareth Richter lives!

According to Will Arnett, his buddies Conan O’Brien and Andy Richter will both appear in Arrested Development‘s hotly anticipated fourth season. The comedian broke the news during last night’s Conan. “I don’t want to give away too much,” Arnett said slyly, “but let me put it this way: There are a few people on this stage tonight who are a part of [season 4].”

He looked back and forth between O’Brien and Richter. “And I think we know who we are.” It wasn’t an illusion — watch for yourself here:

While O’Brien never guest-starred on the comedy during its original run, Richter already has a history with Arrested. In season 3, Conan’s faithful sidekick appeared as himself and his four (fictional) identical brothers, Donnie, Emmett, Chareth, and Rocky. The gag was a reference to Quintuplets, Richter’s canceled Fox sitcom.

How will Arrested Development fit all its guest stars into the banana stand? Henry Winkler, Mae Whitman, Scott Baio, Judy Greer, Liza Minnelli, and Carl Weathers are all reportedly reprising their original Arrested roles. Additionally, John Slattery, Isla Fisher, and Terry Crews are set to play new characters in season 4.

Meanwhile, poor Steve Holt — STEVE HOLT! — sits alone and forlorn, staring at a phone that just won’t ring.
