'Homeland' posts best ratings ever

Get a load of these ratings, Homeland fans: Sunday’s episode of the Showtime drama attracted its best audience ever and even outpaced Dexter, the cabler’s No. 1 rated series. The Homeland episode averaged 2.2 million viewers in its 10 p.m. slot and 2.5 million for the night. Season-to-date, Homeland is averaging 5.7 million viewers across multiple platforms, up 34 percent from last year.

Dexter, in comparison, averaged 2.1 million viewers at 9 p.m. on Sunday and 2.63 million for the night. Season to date, Dexter is averaging 6 million total viewers over multiple airings and is up 12 percent versus last year.

Season finales for both dramas will air on Dec. 16.
