Best of 2012: TV and movie couples with chemistry

Whether they’re dancing half-naked on national TV or playing undercover cops in a film, the chemistry between these couples is undeniable. And with a superhero, the “sexiest man alive,” and an all-star on our list, it only makes sense that these studs’ other halves would be perfectly content with the match-up.

Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield, The Amazing Spider-Man

Stone and Garfield made such a convincing super couple in the film that they were ”bitten” off-screen as well. Their chemistry was palpable anytime they shared a scene, especially during their romantic rooftop kiss when the webslinger swept Gwen Stacy off her dainty feet.

Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill, 21 Jump Street

On paper, the guy from Dear John and the guy from Superbad seem like an odd couple. But onscreen, the pair shared a crackling comedic camaraderie that elevated 21 Jump Street – making it one of the year’s most surprisingly funny comedies.

Emily Blunt and Jason Segel, The Five-Year Engagement

What happens when The Super Bunny and Princess Diana meet at a New Years Eve party? They fall in love, get engaged twice, and wed five years later, naturally. Blunt and Segel’s performances were more genuine and relatable than any other rom-com odd-couple in recent years, even rivaling most real-life Hollywood pairings.

Gilles Marini and Peta Murgatroyd, Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars

The dancing duo oozed sex appeal anytime they took the stage. Their near nudity coupled with their hip-thrusting, gyrating moves made audiences cringe for Marini’s wife, who had to sit through the unbearably sensual routines. But, to their credit, the stars always managed to steer clear of the Kelly Monaco/Val Chmerkovskiy ick zone.

Kerry Washington and Tony Goldwyn, Scandal

Would the married president of the United States really risk everything for his illicit lover? He might if she looked like Kerry Washington – and together, these two are steamy enough to elevate D.C.’s temperature by several degrees. Who else could make an endless scene of shoe-tying seem somehow sexy?
