‘PRETTY LITTLE LIARS’: TEASES FROM THE CAST

ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas celebration this weekend brought out stars from the network for a big party at Rockefeller Center. And in the spirit of the holidays, all of them came armed with the gift of scoop — especially Pretty Little Liars cast members Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell and Ashley Benson, who opened up about the upcoming January premiere of the second half of their third season. Here are four teases!

‘SCANDAL’: #WHOSHOTFITZ?

How intense was last week’s episode of Scandal? I certainly needed a little breather after that one. (By breather, I mean I had to unclench the pillow in my lap and make sure circulation returned to my fingers.) And I can tell you that this week’s episode continues that momentum in a really creative way.

As I told you a few weeks ago, Thursday’s fantastic episode is one part present-day drama and one part flashback. In the latter, we revisit Inauguration Day and the very early days of Fitz’s presidency. Hint: there’s plenty of hot Liv/Fitz-ness — and juicy revelations! Bonus fun: We get to see what one member of Olivia Pope and Associates looked like before the team came together, and I can tell you that he/she was in great need of a makeover.

In present day, we pick up moments after the assassination attempt and see that the situation inside the White House continue to be chaotic. “We don’t know if [the president] is dead or alive or what’s going on — or who’s hurt, for that matter,” Dan Bucatinsky previews. Additionally, as many characters are experiencing personal turmoil, everyone inside the White House must refocus their attentions on a very real threat.

‘SUPERNATURAL’: JEREMY CARVER EXPLAINS CASTING NEW WINCHESTER

The Winchester family tree continues to expand with news that this season will introduce Henry Winchester, Sam and Dean’s paternal grandfather, who will time travel his way into the present day in episode 12 of this season.

And as executive producer Jeremy Carver reveals, the episode, which will air in the new year, will be a loaded bag for Sam and Dean. “The episode really allows them not just to delve into a piece of family lore that they really will carry with them moving forward in this season and seasons beyond, it also, frankly, forces them to deal again with some issues related to their grandfather and their father, John,” he says. “For me, that’s one of the most fun things about the show — all of these little patches of history and mythology that we can fill in.”

But will the episode, which Carver describes as “fun [and] heartfelt,” be the only time we see Henry, who will be played by ER vet Gil Mckinney? Or will he be a looming presence, much like Sam and Dean’s other grandfather Samuel Campbell, who we first met in season 4 and had a large arc in season 6? “That’s not to be disclosed,” says Carver.

I’m just going to go ahead and say it: This week’s episode features two of the most disturbing scenes of the entire series. One involves Otto and the other doesn’t involve a person at all. You’ll know it when you see it.

I need some Sons scoops ASAP. TELL ME Jax isn’t going to turn in Tig. — Lou

Jax makes a lot of surprising decisions in this episode; that’s all I can say. Wait, I lie! Bonus scoop (that could be either related or unrelated): At least one of the new characters we met this year won’t be seeing next season.

Meredith and Derek scoop please. Anything on their baby storyline? — Jessica B.

Luckily when I got Bucatinsky, who is also a consulting producer on Grey’s, to sit down with me, we got a chance to breakdown this big baby bombshell and what’s next for Meredith. “All I can tell you is that there would be a natural trepidation on the part of someone like Meredith Grey, I can imagine, having had her own battle with getting pregnant and then adopting.” he says. “I think there’s going to be fear around it — as with any woman who gets pregnant when she didn’t think she could. So I think she’s going to guard this pregnancy and her health. It’s going to be something that’s very fragile.”

You should be #veryscared, because the Cooplets (cute!) are very much in danger in tonight’s episode. “If only we knew some really good OBGYNs,” jokes Paul Adelstein. “Jake is on board and Addison is on board and Sam gets involved — everybody gets involved to try to save the pregnancies.” And the whole situation might not work out how you expect. Episode 5 of the new season could be one of my favorites of the entire series. It features meet-cutes, flashbacks, flashbacks with meet-cutes, reveals that someone once had a serious same-sex crush, and one couple takes a big leap toward the future. Oh, and it’s hilarious.

Any hints about the last two episodes of Arrow? — Tom

Helena’s presence in Oliver’s (Stephen Amell) life is going to continue to ruffle Diggle’s (David Ramsey) feathers and things get pretty “contentious,” according to Ramsey. “Diggle has some very strong feelings about who Helena is and so does Oliver, and they won’t see eye to eye. It’s going to cause some difficulties,” he says. “I think [Dig] considers things that Oliver might not always consider, and Oliver is sometimes willing to hear that. Other times — as you will see with Helena — he’s not so willing.”

I need to know if Bay and Emmett are ok now?? #SwitchedAtBirth — @awkwardhobos

“They’re okay — but they’re not back together…yet,” reveals Switched at Birth star Vanessa Marano. “I don’t think Bay is ready to get back into a relationship with her because he betrayed her, basically, but Emmett wants a relationship. So they’re good right now, but you can’t have the “I want it but I don’t want it” and stay on good terms.”

Any scoop on Suburgatory? So far this season they have made some of the characters very unlikeable. Lisa is mean and bratty, and Tessa, who is usually the smartest one of the bunch, is clueless that she is hurting her dad. Any good news coming out of Chatswin? Thanks. — Jen

All cold feelings will all be warmed by Wednesday’s Christmas episode, in which two people share a first kiss, Tessa proves she still loves George like no one else, and Dalia makes a hilarious (and oddly moving) music video for someone she cares about.

The new Girls trailer rocked my life. Any scoop to share? — Beth

No, but Alexander Karpovsky does! “Season two in general we kind of explore a lot of the underpinnings and foundations of the characters across the board,” he says. “We kind of know their backdrop, their motivations, their histories and how they inform their current choices and motivations and I guess Ray is included in that.”

Criminal Minds scoop, PLEASE!! — Kelly

OK!! Episode 20, which will be the second directed by star Matthew Gray Gubler this season, will be “something unlike you’ve ever seen,” he says Not enough? “Female unsub is all I’ll say.”

The Office? — Tina

HUGE news from Rainn Wilson about the final stretch of the series: “I think Dwight finally gets promoted to manager, and he is so excited that his head explodes, and the series is going to end with Dwight’s head exploding onto the camera. Brains, the whole thing.” Kidding! (But that is an actual quote. Love him.) The actual scoop he shared? “I will say that the documentary gets shown,” he says, “…and the characters get to watch it and see what effect it has on their lives. So it’s really interesting.” Interesting? That’s an understatement. (Also, as a colleague pointed out, a nice nod to the original series.)

I loved Axl’s storyline in the last two episodes. Will he and Cassidy be together the rest of the season? — Katie C.

You definitely haven’t seen the last of her on The Middle. Though, I will say she’s not in this week’s Christmas episode, which is her loss because Axl gets hooked up with an awesome new living situation. Bonus scoop: It doesn’t last.

Hi Sandra! Anything new from Pawnee [and Parks and Recreaction]? Any chance of a Chris/Ann reconciliation? I hope so, since Chris is so good looking. But any scoop in general would be great. Thanks. — Jen

I’ll say this: In episode 14, Chris is fawning over someone who is definitely not named “Ann.”
