• Robin Williams will star in Boulevard, a drama about a man whose marriage is called into question after he encounters a mysterious younger man (newcomer Roberto Aguire), the films producers announced late Wednesday. Dito Montiel (A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, Fighting) will direct from a script by Douglas Soesbe (The Wrong Woman).
• Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick Ass, Savages, Anna Karenina) is currently the frontrunner to play the lead in the reboot of Godzilla. No deal is in place yet, or even close; Taylor-Johnson is reportedly awaiting Frank Darabont‘s pass on punching up the script by upcoming screenwriter Max Borenstein. Monsters director Gareth Edwards is helming the gritty take on the beloved Japanese fire-breathing giant lizard. [Deadline]
• Ellen Page is attached to headline an adaptation of Jean Heglan’s novel Into the Forest, about two sisters living in the California wilderness who have to cope when civilization begins to collapse. • Chad Michael Murray, Larry the Cable Guy, Tika Sumpter (Sparkle), and Kathy Najimy (The Guilt Trip, Rat Race) have joined the latest Tyler Perry production, A Madea Christmas. Murray will play a redneck antagonist, Sumpter a teacher, and Larry a man in an interracial marriage. Perry will write, direct, and star as the irascible Madea. [THR]
