Golden Globes 2013: Why Jason Clarke worried he'd suffer a red carpet wardrobe malfunction

We're used to seeing actresses take baby steps down the red carpet and sitting very still inside the ceremony in an effort to avoid busting the seams of their form-fitting gowns. But at the Golden Globes, it wasn't just the ladies — like Nicole Kidman, who asked husband Keith Urban to tie her shoe because she was unable to bend over in her Alexander McQueen dress — who held their breath in fabulously tight garments.

Zero Dark Thirty star Jason Clarke's Dior tux was so snug, he was worried about splitting his pants.

"This suit is tailored to within an inch of my life, so it could just happen," the actor told EW after carefully bending down to pick up a bottle of water he had dropped on the red carpet.

"At least I think I remembered to put on black underwear. I should touch wood, I hope it doesn't happen."

Thankfully, Clarke's trousers held together, but since he favors slim cut suits I'd like to point out that hosiery company Spanx also has a line of body shapers for men, appropriately called Manx. Not that you look fat in those pants, Jason. Just a suggestion in case you're looking for a little malfunction insurance.
