Eva Green (Casino Royale) has signed on to star as Ava Lord in Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. In a press release announcing the news, Rodriquez and Miller said “Ava Lord is one of the most deadly and fascinating residents of Sin City. From the start, we knew that the actor would need to be able to embody the multifaceted characteristics of this femme fatale and we found that in Eva Green.” Julia Garner (Martha Marcy May Marlene) will also join the large cast as a stripper named Marcy. Rodriguez and Miller are currently filming in Austin for an October 4 release. [Deadline]

David Cronenberg (A Dangerous Method) is teaming up with Don DeLillo again for the The Body Artist, DeLillo’s dreamy 2001 novel about the ordinariness of everyday life….and ghosts. Luca Guadagnino (I Am Love)is set to direct, though, and Cronenberg will actually step in front of the camera to star in the film alongside Isabelle Huppert (Amour) and Denis Lavant (Beau Travail, Holy Motors). Cronenberg recently directed an adaptation of DeLillo’s novel Cosmopolis. Even though he’s best known for his directing work, Cronenberg has acted in a handful of projects including some of his own (The Fly, Videodrome) and for some others too (Alias, To Die For). Taken director Pierre Morel is in talks to direct an adaptation of the Jean-Patrick Manchette novel Prone Gunman, with Sean Penn in the lead role. The story follows Martin Terrier (Penn), a spy forced to go on the run when his organization turns against him. The hope is that the film could become an action franchise for Penn, along the lines of Liam Neeson’s success with Taken. [THR]

• In addition to the Paul Giamatti news, Felicity Jones (Like Crazy) is also in negotiations for a role in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Both would be joining an all-star cast of new characters including Jamie Foxx as Electro, Dane DeHaan as Harry Osbourne, and Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson. [THR]

• The JFK assassination drama Parkland has added Ron Livingston, Colin Hanks, James Badge Dale (The Grey), Jackie Earle Haley (Shutter Island), and David Harbour (End of Watch) to the already massive cast, which includes Paul Giamatti, Jacki Weaver, and Zac Efron, among others. Produced by Tom Hanks’ Playtone, the film is based on the book Reclaiming History: The Assassination Of President John F. Kennedy, and will focus on the events inside the Parkland Hospital the day of the assassination. [ComingSoon.net]
