Katy Perry, John Mayer split

The teenage dream is over! Katy Perry and John Mayer have broken up, People reports. The duo started dating last summer, breaking up briefly in August only to get back together soon after.

Mayer last month told CBS Sunday Morning about his relationship with Katy Perry, “For the first time in my life, I don’t feel like I’m in a celebrity relationship… For me it feels like something that’s very human.”

Pop superstar Perry was previously married to comedian Russell Brand, until Brand filed for divorce in late 2011.
