'Dexter' season 8 casts 'Last Resort' co-star -- EXCLUSIVE

Darri Ingolfsson Publicity

An actor from ABC’s Last Resort has washed ashore in Dexter Morgan’s Miami.

Showtime’s Dexter has added Darri Ingolfsson for its eighth — and likely final — season.

Ingolfsson (who played a senatorial aide dating a weapons lobbyist on the ABC series) will play an antique dealer of old medieval equipment who starts dating Dexters (Michael C. Hall) neighbor in a multi-episode arc. That description provokes all sorts of plot possibilities, doesn’t it?

Season 8 also features guest arcs with Charlotte Rampling as a neuro-psychiatrist who specializes in working with young psychopaths and profiling criminals in unorthodox ways, and Sean Patrick Flanery as the ex-cop owner of a private investigation company. Showtime is shaking up the usual Dexter schedule, rolling out season 8 starting in the summer — June 30 — as a companion series for new drama series Ray Donovan.
