A psychological bookend to his 2003 art-house hit, Swimming Pool, François Ozon’s latest French-language thriller traces the relationship between a manipulative high school student (Ernst Umhauer) and his weary writing professor (Fabrice Luchini). The boy pens essays about his infatuation with a male classmate, gets his teacher panting for each new installment, and then begins to dangerously blur the line between fantasy and reality. It’s a Disaster

Okay, so it’s not quite a disaster, but this slight comedy isn’t as funny as it thinks it is, either. Four self-absorbed couples (including David Cross and Julia Stiles) meet for brunch and discuss their hipster neuroses before a terrorist attack puts them under quarantine.
