Met Gala: Who was worst dressed? -- POLL

The Met gala is an opportunity for stars to take big fashion risks, but for some reason, this year’s punk theme threw even the best dressed celebrities for a loop.

Whether they missed the mark or ignored the memo, see the stars whose looks fell flat and cast your vote for the worst dressed.

For all the crazy costumes we’ve seen Nicki Minaj pull off on the red carpet, the American Idol judge’s choice to wear a tame (for her) cut-out Tommy Hilfiger gown last night was downright puzzling.

Mad Men star Jessica Paré wore a mullet frock, black trousers and strappy sandals, a head-to-toe Jason Wu ensemble that would make Michelle Obama shiver. And that heavy-handed eye makeup didn’t help.

Allison Williams should have gone to Girls costume designer Jenn Rogien and asked, “what would Jessa wear?” Instead, she looked more like Marni playing dress up in her sheer paneled Altuzarra dress, overly smokey eyes, and perfect hair.

Ashley Greene looked more a depressed bride cake topper than a punk in a gold-print Marchesa dress, which she accessorized with limp hair, and a weird updo. The black nail polish was the only thing Greene got right.

Let’s face it, Chelsea Clinton doesn’t have a punk bone in her body, but did she have to go to the opposite extreme and channel her mom? Did we learn nothingfrom J-Hud’s Oscars jacket moment? And why didn’t anyone clue Chelsea in to the fact that Burberry made a special punk capsule collection just for the occasion? So many questions.
