Lenny Kravitz's design firm creating sets for Queen Latifah's talk show -- EXCLUSIVE

Grammy winner Lenny Kravitz — who returns to the big screen in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire this fall — will bring his enviable style to longtime friend Queen Latifah's new talk show.

The singer's design firm Kravtiz Design Inc. will create the sets for The Queen Latifah Show, which is based on the Sony Studio lot in Culver City, California.

"It's a thrill to be designing the set for The Queen Latifah Show," Kravitz told EW in an exclusive statement. "This is the first time Kravitz Design has created an environment for television, which makes it a very exciting project for us."

Where will the singer turned designer pull inspiration from?

"The set reflects Latifah's personality and spirit and will be an inviting, comfortable space for her guests, studio audience and viewers," said Kravitz. As the son of actress Roxie Roker — best known for her role as Helen Willis on The Jeffersons — Kravitz's exposure to television began at an early age, though he acknowledges this is a new endeavor. "I never thought of designing for television but, I suppose growing up in a TV studio watching my mother has come full circle."

Latifah is equally thrilled by the collaboration. "Lenny is not only an incredible musician but an incredible designer, and I almost can't believe he is designing the set for my show," she said in a statement exclusive to EW. "I can't wait for people to see it."

Sketches and specifics on the design details are still under wraps, reps for the show promise "superior materials, unusual textures, and classic compositions." The set will also include "bold architectural features" and "an elegant mix of materials including refined metal screens, warm woods, and organic marbles." Founded in 2003, Kravitz's design firm — which focuses on residential, commercial, and furniture design — has completed a number of projects, from the interior design for units in the Paramount Bay condominiums in downtown Miami, to a chandelier for Austrian crystal company Swarovski.

The show is co-executive produced by Jada Pinkett-Smith, who contributed to the mutual admiration society. "Lenny and his Kravitz Design team are designing a set that exceeds everything we ever thought possible for daytime television," she said via press release. "Their creation blew us away!"

Viewers will have to hold tight for the set's CBS debut on September 16th, but if the aesthetic is anything like Kravitz's unique take on fashion, it'll be well worth the wait.
