The first footage from Lars von Trier’s upcoming film, Nymphomaniac, is here.
The already-controversial film, starring Charlotte Gainsbourg, Shia LaBeouf, Willem Dafoe, Uma Thurman, Christian Slater, Stellan Skarsgard and Jamie Bell, follows a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac, who recounts her erotic experiences to the man who saved her after a beating. Originally, the film made headlines when LaBeouf announced that the sex scenes in the movie wouldn’t be simulated. At Cannes earlier this year, a producer clarified that there would be body doubles who would actually be engaging in sex onscreen.
In what is being billed as a clip from “Chapter 1: The Compleat Angler” — there are eight chapters in the film — this scene shows two young women competing to see who can seduce the most men on a train. The video description asks, “How does an ordinary bag of chocolate sweets become a symbol of sexual victory? As Joe and her experienced friend B embark on a train trip, they bet on how many men they can seduce on the ride. The grand prize is a delicious bag of chocolate sweets, and it soon becomes clear to Joe that in order to win, she needs to lure the prey into biting the hook like a skilled fisherman.”

The film, which will be distributed by Magnolia in the United States, doesn’t yet have a release date.
