Dustin Hoffman treated for cancer

Dustin Hoffman has been successfully treated for cancer, his rep told People exclusively.

“It was detected early and he has been surgically cured,” rep Jodi Gottlieb said. “Dustin is feeling great and is in good health.”

The Oscar-winning actor will continue to monitor his health, with preventative treatments that have been recommended by his doctor. More details about his illness have not been released.

Hoffman recently had his directorial debut with Quartet, just wrapped on Chef, and will begin the movie version of Roald Dahl’s Esio Trot later this year — indicating that the illness didn’t slow him down in the slightest.
