Prince William gives first interview since birth of Royal Baby George

Prince William has emerged from new-parent-hibernation to give his first interview since the birth of baby Prince George on July 22 with CNN‘s Max Foster.

The network aired a snippet of the interview special, “Prince William’s Passion: New Father, New Hope,” which premieres on CNN on Sept. 15, at 10 p.m. ET.

In the sit down, we learn that the Duke of Cambridge, perched in the Kensington Palace gardens, is teeming with pride over ”rascal” Prince George, that the Duchess isn’t getting much sleep, and that dog Lupo is needing some time to acclimate to the new future king of the house.

Famously displeased with paparazzi presence, Prince William explained that he didn’t mind the barrage of media upon leaving St. Mary’s Hospital in London:

“We were happy to show him off to anyone that wanted to see him,” he said.

He later added, “It’s not somewhere I enjoy being but I know the position that I’m in – it’s what’s required of me to do.”

CNN‘s Foster and Prince William then entered a play-by-play analysis of the Prince’s too-smooth car-seat move, in which he swiftly carried baby George and in a one-two-punch-fit-for-royalty, secured him in the car nary a curse word or struggle, before capping off the move with a pretend-furrowed-brow-wipe.

“Believe me, it wasn’t my first time,” quipped Prince William. (He confessed that he did practice the car-seat-adjustment beforehand).
