When one closet door closes, the claws come out…

After five seasons, The Rachel Zoe Project has finally come to an end. “We’ve done five years. I think it’s time to probably move on,” Zoe tells Capitol File Magazine for its September cover story. “The Rachel Zoe Project was meant to be a show solely based on fashion and designers and all of that, and clearly it wasn’t. I was like, ‘Oh, I don’t want my personal life on television.'” Bravo has yet to officially confirm that the series has been cancelled, and there’s no word yet on the fate of Zoe’s former assistant Brad Goreski’s show It’s A Brad, Brad World.

Meanwhile, it was announced today that Oxygen will develop a new competition show called Nailed It!, which focuses on the ever-popular nail art industry.

According to Variety, Nailed It! “pits the country’s top nail artists against one another as they compete for a cash prize and title of ultimate nail artist. Contestants will compete in nail-inspired challenges that test their ability to work with extreme themes and over-the-top custom designs, using gels, wraps, polishes, glitter, lace, 3D objects and more.”

Jay Peterson (formerly of The Rachel Zoe Project) and Todd Lubin (The Biggest Loser, Nashville Star) will act as executive producers.

“Nail art is in the cultural zeitgeist of Oxygen’s viewers as young, modern women are looking at new ways to express themselves,” said Cori Abraham, Senior Vice President at Oxygen Media. “Nailed It! will tap into this new trend for the first time to give emerging artists the chance to compete for nail supremacy, and to create a few new trends of their own.”
