Tom Hiddleston fans petition for Loki film

Loki has an army (of fans, not destructive alien beings, thankfully), and that army wants a Loki movie.

Launched in July following an overwhelmingly popular appearance by the character at Comic Con, the “Free Loki” Change.org petition is nearing its goal for 20,000 signatures in support of a film starring Tom Hiddleston as Loki, the villain he portrayed in Thor, The Avengers and the upcoming Thor: The Dark World.

“We feel Loki…due to the astounding following both the character and actor have earned as a result of the Marvel films, more than warrants further exploration of his story,” the petition states. “We believe such an endeavor would not only be profitable and successful, but provide a larger view for general audiences of the incredibly complex and diverse personality a well-known villain of the Marvel universe is gifted with.”

Still, even if Loki’s burdened with glorious purpose, fans may need to wait — delayed gratification, to be more specific — for Marvel to put Loki back in action. Hiddleston confirmed last month his Asgardian character won’t be appearing in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

But don’t let that stop you if you want more Hiddleston and Loki–you can sign the petition here. If you do, what would you want to see in a solo Loki film? Sound off in the comments below.
