* Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx (Ray) is in talks to play Martin Luther King, Jr. in a biopic for Warner Bros. and DreamWorks. Fellow Oscar-winner and biographical film enthusiast Oliver Stone (Born on the Fourth of July) is also in talks to direct. Chasing Mavericks scribe Kario Salem penned the most recent version of the script, and Steven Spielberg will reportedly produce. [The Wrap]

* Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly, who have worked together on a number of films including Step Brothers and Talledega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, are attached to star in the comedy Devil's Night, reportedly about childhood friends who have a falling out only to find themselves reuniting in an attempt to save their neighborhood. * Emma Watson is set to re-team with her Perks of Being a Wallflower director Stephen Chbosky on While We're Young, based on Adena Halpern's novel 29. The generational tale involves a 75-year-old woman who wishes she could be 29 again for a day. Her wish works and she uses her day of youth to hang out with her 29-year-old granddaughter. Michael Weber and Scott Neustadter, who wrote (500) Days of Summer and The Spectacular Now, are on board to script the adaptation. [Deadline]

* Jay Baruchel, who had a bit part in Almost Famous, is set to join Cameron Crowe's untitled comedy starring Emma Stone, Bradley Cooper, and Rachel McAdams. The plot involves a defense contractor who falls for an Air Force pilot, a talking computer, and an island with powers. [THR]

* Nicole Kidman, who won an Oscar for her work in The Hours, will produce and star in The Silent Wife, an adaptation of A.S.A. Harrison's novel about a fraught marriage in Chicago. The story alternates between the husband and wife's viewpoints as the adultery-afflicted relationship heads towards disaster. [Deadline]

* Australian soap star Jordan Patrick Smith will play a POW in Angelina Jolie's Unbroken, starring Jack O'Connell and Garrett Hedlund. Japanese musician Miyavi has also joined the cast, playing a guard at the POW camp. [Deadline]

* Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner is headed for the big screen with Barely Lethal, about a teenage assassin (Hailee Steinfeld) who fakes her death and attempts to live life as a normal teen. Jessica Alba and Samuel L. Jackson also star in the Kyle Newman comedy. [Deadline]

* Girls actor Alex Karpovsky has joined the road trip movie Folk Hero & Funny Guy, about a pair of estranged friends who embark on a journey together — one to do a stand-up comedy tour, and the other to get his girlfriend back. The buddy comedy will be the directorial debut of actor Jeff Grace. [The Wrap]

* Victor Garber (Argo) will play Ryan Reynolds' friend in Tarsem's sci-fi thriller Selfless. [Deadline]

* Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer) and Bella Thorne (Shake It Up) will star in the thriller Big Sky about a protective mother and an agoraphobic teen who are attacked by gunmen in the desert. Jorge Michel Grau will direct the film, which is an adaptation of his Spanish-language movie We Are What We Are. [Deadline]
