'Fifty Shades of Grey' casts Marcia Gay Harden as Christian's mother

Academy Award-winning actress Marcia Gay Harden is joining the cast of Universal and Focus’ Fifty Shades of Grey as Christian Grey’s adoptive mother, EW has confirmed.

The actress will play Grey family matriarch Dr. Grace Trevelyan Grey in the film, opposite Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey and Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele. Harden most recently wrapped shooting for Woody Allen’s Magic in the Moonlight, and currently stars in HBO’s The Newsroom and ABC’s Trophy Wife.

The film adaptation of the best-selling book, which began shooting Monday (check out the first on-set photo) and hits theaters in February 2015, also stars Rita Ora as Mia Grey and Luke Grimes as Elliot Grey.

Harden’s casting means the only Grey family member left to cast is Christian’s father, Carrick Grey. Share your thoughts on who should round out the cast in the comments below.
