'Nymphomaniac' sets U.S. release dates

Lars von Trier’s pair of Nymphomaniac films will debut on-demand before opening in U.S. theaters in March and April. Magnolia Pictures announced today that Nymphomaniac: Part One, which tells the story of one woman’s sexual awakening and subsequent amorous adventures, will be available on-demand beginning March 6 and open in theaters on March 21. Part Two premieres on-demand on April 3 and in theaters April 18.

The movies stars Stacy Martin and Charlotte Gainsbourg as young and adult versions of Joe, the wounded woman recounting her life’s sexual escapades. Shia LaBeouf, Christian Slater, Uma Thurman, Sophie Kennedy Clark, Connie Nielsen, Jamie Bell, Willem Dafoe, Mia Goth, Jean-Marc Barr, and Udo Kier also appear.

If you can’t wait that long, you can always spend Christmas in Denmark, where the films open on Dec. 25.
