'Fifty Shades' actress to star in ABC drama pilot

A leading actress from next year’s Fifty Shades of Grey film has been cast in a new ABC drama pilot.

Eloise Mumford, who plays Anastasia Steele’s best friend and roommate Kate in the adult romance, will star in the network’s medical drama Warriors. Inspired by the state of the art Walter Reed Military Medical Center, the series follows “the best and brightest active duty military doctors and nurses as they practice trailblazing medicine.” Before Fifty Shades, Mumford appeared in ABC’s The River.

“Eloise is really special,” said executive producer Chris Keyser (Party of Five), who worked with Mumford on Fox’s Lone Star. “She is perfect for this role and our first choice. I couldn’t be happier or feel luckier that we have the chance to make Warriors together.”
