Casting Net: Anne Hathaway may play Robert De Niro's boss

• Anne Hathaway (Les Miserables) is in talks to star alongside Robert De Niro in The Intern for director Nancy Meyers (It’s Complicated). Hathaway would play a high-powered executive who gets assigned a senior intern (De Niro). Reese Witherspoon was previously attached to the role when Warner Bros. signed on, but dropped out due to reported scheduling conflicts. After a quiet 2013 (release-wise), Hathaway can be seen next in Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar (Nov. 7). She also just enjoyed the premiere of Song One (release date TBD) at Sundance. [THR]

• Jack Black (School of Rock) and James Marsden (Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues) are set to co-star in The D-Train, the directorial debut of Yes Man writers Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel. Longtime Black collaborator Mike White is producing the movie about a high school reunion committee chair (Black) who is trying to get the most popular guy from high school (Marsden) to attend their 20 year reunion. Black’s character travels to Los Angeles to do make the case to Marsden’s character, who is now a struggling actor. Nat Faxon (The Way Way Back) is also in talks to join the project. [THR]

The folks behind Terminator: Genesis are reportedly trying to decide between Jai Courtney (A Good Day to Die Hard) and Boyd Holbrook (Behind the Candelabra) for the role of Kyle Reese (originated by Michael Biehn). Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty) was previously cast as John Connor, and Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) will be playing his mother, Sarah Connor, in the Alan Taylor-directed pic. [Deadline]

• Chloe Sevigny is set to re-team with her Last Days of Disco director Whit Stillman for his adaptation of Jane Austen’s Lady Susan. Sienna Miller (Factory Girl) has also signed on to star as Lady Susan Vernon. [The Herald; IndieWire]

• Sevigny has also joined #Horror, Tara Subkoff’s directorial debut. Subkoff and Sevigny both starred in The Last Days of Disco. Balthazar Getty, Natasha Lyonne, Timothy Hutton, and Lydia Hearst will also star in the “noir thriller.” [Deadline]

• Stellan Skarsgard is in talks to join Ewan McGregor in Our Kind of Traitor, an adaptation of a John Le Carré thriller that Susanna White (Parade’s End) will direct. [ScreenDaily]

• Emily Watson (Punch-Drunk Love), Martin Henderson (The Ring), and Thomas Wright (The Bridge) are set to join Baltasar Kormákur’s Everest. Jake Gyllenhaal, Jason Clarke, and Josh Brolin are headlining the story of the 1996 climbing disaster, which is set for a 3D release on Feb. 27, 2015. [The Wrap]

• John Turturro and Vanessa Paradis have boarded Rio, I Love You — an anthology film in the vein of Paris, je t’aime — for a single segment that Turturro will direct. [Variety]
